It’s official – Pennsylvania has been added to the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA)
The addition of Pennsylvania to the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA) is expected to greatly expand the player pool for WSOP.com, increasing prize pools for the 2025 WSOP Online U.S. Domestic events substantially.
Based on 2024 data, I estimate that prize pools and top payouts will grow by approximately 40-60%, reflecting the increased liquidity from Pennsylvania’s 13 million population joining existing MSIGA states Nevada, New Jersey, and Michigan.

Estimating the Impact of Pennsylvania’s Addition
To estimate the impact, let’s first consider the population increase. Pennsylvania’s population is approximately 13 million, while the MSIGA states already linked into WSOP.com (Nevada, New Jersey, Michigan) have a combined population of about 22.6 million. This suggests a potential 57.5% increase in population (13 / 22.6 ≈ 0.575). However, online poker participation rates vary, and not all population translates directly to players. To refine this, let’s analyze 2024 online poker revenue data for these states.
- New Jersey 2024 Online Poker Revenue: Reported at $28.5 million, out of total iGaming revenue of $2.36 billion (New Jersey gambling revenue tops $6.30 billion in record 2024).
- Pennsylvania 2024 Online Poker Revenue: Reported at $28.1 million, out of total iGaming revenue of $2.7 billion (Play Pennsylvania: Pennsylvania Online Casino Revenue).
- Michigan 2024 Online Poker Revenue: Estimated at $28.8 million, assuming 1.2% of iGaming revenue of $2.4 billion out of a total of $2.9 billion of combined iGaming + sports betting revenue, based on similar proportions (Michigan online gambling reaches record $2.9 billion in 2024).
- Nevada 2024 Online Poker Revenue: Estimated at $10 million. For Nevada, online poker revenue is not publicly reported, as WSOP.com is the sole operator and not required to disclose (The State of Online Poker 2023: Nevada). Nevada’s contribution is estimated at around $10 million for simplicity, based on historical data suggesting low monthly revenues below $1 million and relative size to other states.
Total current MSIGA online poker revenue (NJ $28.5M + MI $28.8M + NV $10M) ≈ $67.3 million. Adding Pennsylvania’s $28.1 million, the new total is approximately $95.4 million, a 41.8% increase ($94.4 / $67.3 ≈ 1.418). Thus, we can use a conservative multiplier of 1.4 to estimate the increase in player numbers and prize pools, reflecting this revenue-based growth.
Calculations for 2025 Estimates
For each event, I applied a multiplier of 1.4-1.6 to the number of players, prize pool and top three payouts, rounding to the nearest integer/dollar for consistency with poker payout standards. This includes the conservative multiplier of 1.4 as well as a more aggressive multiplier of 1.6 as the networking effects of including Pennsylvania with bigger prize pools will likely draw in even more players.

This approach assumes the tournament structure (buy-ins, rake) remains consistent, and the payout percentages scale proportionally with the prize pool.
